A Kindling Original Series

Join us on the third Thursday of every month for Incandescence, a Kindling original conversation series that delves into the provocative and thoughtful ideas behind radically original creative experiences. Together we’ll uncover the motivations behind our guests’ drive to explore, imagine, and create new ways of engaging with the world through their work. 

Incandescence is scheduled to be accessible in as many time zones as possible. Each episode takes place the third Thursday of every month at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 7pm Central European and at 10:30pm in Mumbai. Every month the episode will re-broadcast at 8pm Pacific the following Friday evening.

Episode 2 features guests Radha Agrawal (author, community architect, and creator of Daybreaker) in conversation with Benjamin Langholz (known for his artworks at Burning Man, AfrikaBurn, Midburn, and galleries around the world). This episode will focus on being altered without substance, heightened awareness and embodied living, and hosted by Namiko Uno. Namiko is a somatics practitioner and bodyworker-in-training living on Ohlone land in Oakland, California.

VJ, multimedia artist, and experience designer, Catherine Turp (aka VJ Cafrine) is the Creative Director at Moment Factory, a Montreal-based studio that creates large-scale multimedia installations. Cat is a visual storyteller who transforms artistic performances and public spaces into immersive experiences. Audiences have experienced her work at events and organizations such as Mutek and Cirque du Soleil, and in public spaces as diverse as nightclubs and wild Canadian forests.

DJ and Producer Jennifer Cardini 

One of Europe’s most influential DJs and producers, Jennifer Cardini was a pioneer of the new German sound, which fuses deep house with Euro disco. Her dancefloor philosophy is reflected by the music released on her labels, Correspondent and Dischi Autunno, and also through her engagement in support of the LGBTQ community. Jennifer is known for composing her sets by starting with the last track first. Learn why she structures her work by winding each musical journey toward its destination.

Artist and Entrepreneur Pablo González Vargas

Get to know the artist and cultural instigator behind the Mayan Warrior, one of Black Rock City’s most infamous deep playa big sound art cars. Pablo González Vargas is a technology entrepreneur whose explorations into sacred geometry, sound and light led him to create Illumina, a playa art piece that pulsates with participants’ collective heart.
