Waning Gibbous Flow – refining intentions, eliminating obstacles, embracing freedom and magic
Join Koren Kiener, a San Francisco based yoga instructor and artist for a fluid yoga practice to awaken your heart-centered intentions, inner freedom and magic! All levels are welcome as we truthfully tap into what is driving us. This practice will urge you to understand what is propelling you forward and what is holding you back. First, we must get clear on the chaos that lives within us and outside of us. We’ll integrate tools to express these emotions authentically in order to pave the way to breakthroughs. You can expect a thoughtful blend of breathing techniques, Vinyasa-based movement and intention setting throughout this 75 minute class. All are encouraged to come with any props to support you as well as a journal for reflection. We’ll be guided by the waning gibbous rhythms occurring on this day and channeling the spiritual medicine of Kurukulla, the Nitya of enchantment!
As the lunar energy evolves from the Full Moon to the Waning Gibbous, we honor the powerful presence of Kurukulla, the Nitya of Enchantment. In Sanskrit, the word Nitya translates to eternal and the goddess Kurukulla is an embodiment of bewitchment and enchantment. She carries multiple depictions, but one describes her as black, fierce and naked with disheveled hair. She wears a garland of skulls around her neck and sits seductively on a corpse. She has four hands that hold scissors, a skull, a cleaver, and a shield. She removes obstacles gently with her scissors and forcefully with her cleaver. Other themes associated with Kurukulla are defining the balance of our passions, increasing our magnetism and embracing our wild side. We are encouraged to refine our intentions when the waning gibbous takes shape. So let’s come together as a community in the vibration to let go of what is no longer serving in order to let in new life and light to guide us forward!
